Victor Smorgan Group
managing director Peter Edwards
said the facility created about
50t/week of waste, mostly from
the clippings of tomatoes.
He said fermenting that waste
as a way of creating gas to use in
the boilers was actually quite a

d'VineRipe's glasshouse was
designed and constructed by
Dutch glasshouse construction
company van der Hoeven and

prevent hot-wind damage.
South Australian Department of
Trade and Economic
Development deputy chief
executive officer Lachlan Bruce,
who attended the opening said it
was an example of new
technology being used to intensify
and expand food production in
"SA aims to become the 'state-
of-choice' for investors -- a state
in which outstanding projects can
be realised by government and
industry working together," he
"The d'VineRipe glasshouse
facility is a great example of that."
Perfection Fresh chief executive
officer Michael Simonetta said the
glasshouse's expanded capacity
put dVineRipe in a position to
provide consistent, year-round
fruit, minimise peaks and troughs,
and respond faster to supply
Peter Edwards, Lachlan Bruce and Micahel Simonetta made
presentations at the official launch of d'VineRipe's expanded glasshouse
facility to a number of stakeholders, industry personnel and dignitaries.
d'VineRipe has completed stage two of its glasshouse expansion near

d'VineRipe's new glasshouse expansion is the largest of its kind in
Australia to use pad and fad climate control technology.
