Cherry Ball boost
for Camp Quality
THE annual Cherry Ball in
November at the Adelaide
$291,143 for Camp Quality (South
Australia and Northern Territory).
Adelaide Produce Market's fruit and
vegetable growers donated cherries --
the season's first fruit -- for auction and
competed to buy them back. About 650
growers and retailers bid on the cher-
ries, with a local SA fr uit and vegetable
retailer taking them home for $25,000.
A limited edition Casey Stoner helmet
and jacket raised $13,000, with the sale
of other items, including mangoes,
apple cucumbers, premium nuts, celery,
lettuce and the new low carb Bellita
potatoes -- donated by the Mitolo
Group -- adding to the coffers.
"The Cherry Ball is the highlight of
the Camp Quality fundraising calen-
dar. The generosity of the APM plays
a significant role in providing fun
therapy for children living with can-
cer," Camp Quality SA & NT area
manager Heather Berry said.
"The two guests of honour were
Prince William and Princess Elsa - two
of our junior campers. They had a
wonderful time dancing the night
away with their families.
"The proceeds enable us to run
week-long camps for children and
teenagers living with cancer, weekend
camps to enjoy with their siblings and
parents, and activity days for the
